Day 1: Tarangire National Park – Elephants & Baobabs

Your safari adventure begins with a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s hidden gem known for its massive elephant herds and towering baobab trees. As you explore the park, you’ll follow the Tarangire River—the only permanent water source in the area—where wildlife congregates, especially during the dry season. Expect to see not just elephants in impressive numbers, but also lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, and countless antelope. After an exhilarating game drive, you’ll head to a beautiful safari lodge (based on your budget preference) to unwind, enjoy the surroundings, and take a dip in the swimming pool.

Day 2,3 & 4: Serengeti National Park – Endless Plains & Big Game

After breakfast, your journey continues toward the iconic Serengeti National Park. Passing through the Ngorongoro highlands, you’ll reach the park by midday and begin your game drive through its legendary savannahs. Serengeti is world-renowned for its vast landscapes, predator action, and the spectacular Great Migration—a moving spectacle of over a million wildebeest and zebras.

For the  3 days, you’ll explore different parts of the Serengeti, tracking lions, elephants, cheetahs, and possibly witnessing dramatic predator-prey interactions. Your lodge, nestled in the heart of the park, offers the perfect base to enjoy the serene African wilderness. Spend your evenings relaxing to the sounds of the bush, perhaps watching impala graze nearby or spotting birds flitting through the trees.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Wildlife Wonderland

Rise early for a drive to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. As you descend 600 meters into the crater, you’ll be greeted by a rich diversity of wildlife. The crater is home to an estimated 30,000 animals, including black rhino, lions, elephants, buffalos, hyenas, zebras, and an impressive variety of birds.

You’ll enjoy a full game drive in this self-contained ecosystem, followed by a scenic ascent out of the crater and a short drive to Karatu or the crater rim, where you’ll spend the night in a cozy lodge tucked into the highlands.

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park – Birds, Babbling Brooks & Big Views

On this day, head to Lake Manyara National Park, a lush, compact park nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Despite its size, the park is rich in biodiversity, from tree-climbing lions to large troops of baboons, and over 400 species of birds, including flamingos along the lake shore.

Enjoy a game drive and, if you wish, an optional walking safari, where you can explore on foot and observe wildlife like giraffes, impalas, and buffaloes in a peaceful setting. After lunch, return to your lodge in Karatu in the late afternoon, in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Explore the Rich Culture Community of Lake Eyasi

A half day on a culturally immersive trip to the remote and beautiful Lake Eyasi, known not just for its scenic beauty but also for its vibrant indigenous cultures. Your journey begins early in the morning, departing Karatu around driving through the fertile highlands and descending into the vast Eyasi basin. you will arrive at Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes.

Your morning will be spent experiencing the ancient lifestyles of the Hadzabe people—among the last remaining hunter-gatherers in East Africa. You’ll join them on a short hunting expedition, learning about their techniques, natural medicines, and traditional bow-and-arrow skills. Afterward, you’ll visit the Datoga tribe, renowned for their blacksmithing. Watch as they transform scrap metal into tools, knives, and jewelry using centuries-old techniques, and gain a deeper understanding of their customs and way of life with the help of a local translator-guide. After lunch, return to Arusha in the late afternoon, in time for dinner or your airport transfer.
